Why Jesus is better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole…
Jesus is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh…
Jesus rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year…
Jesus is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies…
Jesus supplies all your needs.

Santa Comes down your chimney uninvit ed…
Jesus stands at your door and knocks, and then enters your heart when invited.

You have to wait in line to see Santa…
Jesus is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap…
Jesus lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn’t know your name, all he can say is, “Hi little boy or girl. What’s your name?”
Jesus knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly…
Jesus has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO, HO, HO…
Jesus offers health, hope and help.

Santa says, “You better not cry…”
Jesus says, “Cast all you cares on me for I care for you.”

Santa’s little helpers make toys…
Jesus makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle….
Jesus gives you joy that is your strength.

Santa puts gifts under your tree…
Jesus became our gift when he died on a tree.

C.J. got a letter from Santa

C.J. and I had a good time on Wednesday making Cookies for his Teachers, and some for us:) It was raining all day, so it was a great day to stay in and clean as well. Later that night, when I checked the mail, C.J. actually got a letter from Santa..aka, Mimi. He was so excited and could not wait to read it. We tried taking him to the mall tonight so that he could show the letter to Santa BUT he wold have none of Santa. I think those days are gone and I treasure those moments when he would go so willingly and jump into his arms..very sad for me!!

This video that my sweet friend from Augusta, Shannon, sent me today really brought tears to my eye's. I have always been someone who loves VERY deeply and my friendships, rather they have been one's that I have had for 30 years or for the last 6 years that I have lived in Knoxville, they ALL have touched my life and made me who I am.

I pray that you have time to watch and maybe even share with the friends that mean the most to you:)

7 wonders of the world

A friend of mine e-mailed me today and asked me to send this to him again. I had e-mailed it to him months ago and found it in my "sent" box. It took me a while to go back and try and find it BUT I am so glad that it was still there. It really is beautiful and I hope you all enjoy it!

C.J.'s Parade at School

C.J. had his Christmas Parade at School on Thursday and it was so adorable. He happened to be the "Line Leader" for the day so he got to walk with his Teacher, Ms.Reynolds, through the hall way. There were so many Parents there that it was not easy to get pictures so I waited until it was over to get some more.
C.J. just loves his Teacher's and we are very blessed that he got Ms.Reynolds this year:)

The true meaning of Christmas

Just a week before Christmas I had a visitor. This is how it happened.
I just finished the household chores for the night and was
preparing to go to bed when I heard a noise in the front of the
house. I opened the door to the front room, and to my surprise, Santa
himself stepped out from behind the Christmas tree.
He placed his finger over his mouth so I would not cry out.
"What are you doing?" I started to ask him.

The words choked in my throat, as I saw he had tears in his eyes.
His usual jolly manner was gone. Gone was the eager boisterous soul we
all know. He then answered me with a simple statement, TEACH THE
CHILDREN! I was puzzled: What did he mean? He anticipated my
question, and with one quick movement brought forth a miniature toy
bag from behind the tree.

As I stood there bewildered, Santa said, Teach the Children! Teach
them the old meaning of Christmas. The meaning that a now-a-day
Christmas has forgotten!

Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a FIR TREE and placed it
on the mantle. Teach the Children that the pure green color of the
stately fir tree remains green all year round, depicting the
everlasting hope of mankind. All the needles point heavenward,
making it a symbol of man's thoughts turning toward heaven.

He again reached into his bag and pulled out a brilliant STAR. Teach
the Children that the star was the heavenly sign of promises long
ago. God promised a Savior for the world, and the star was the sign
of fulfillment of that promise.

He then reached into the bag and pulled out a CANDLE. Teach the
Children that the candle symbolizes that Christ is the light of the
world, and when we see this great light we are reminded of He who
displaces the darkness.

Once again he reached into his bag and then removed a WREATH and
placed it on the tree. Teach the Children that the wreath symbolizes
the eternal nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one
continuous round of affection.

He then pulled out from his bag an ornament of HIMSELF. Teach the
Children that Santa Claus symbolizes the generosity and good will we
feel during the month of December.

He reached in again and pulled out a HOLLY LEAF. Teach the Children
the holly plant represents immortality. It represents the crown of
thorns worn by our Savior. The red holly berries represent blood shed
by Him.

Next he pulled out a GIFT from the bag and said, "Teach the Children
that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.
Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift. Teach the Children that
the wise men bowed before the holy babe and presented Him with gold,
frankincense, and myrrh. We should give gifts in the same spirit as
the wise men."

Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a CANDY CANE and hung it
on the tree. Teach the Children that the candy cane represents the
shepherd's crook. The crook on the shepherd's staff helps bring back
strayed sheep from the flock. The candy cane is the symbol that we
are our brother's keeper.

He reached in again and pulled out an ANGEL. Teach the Children that
it was the angels that heralded in the glorious news of the Savior's
birth. The angels sang 'Glory to God in the highest, on earth, peace
and good will.'

Suddenly I heard a soft twinkling sound, and from his bag he pulled
out a BELL. Teach the Children that as the lost sheep are found by
the sound of a bell, it should bring people to the fold. The bell
symbolizes guidance and return.

Santa looked at the tree and was pleased. He looked back at me and I
saw the twinkle was back in his eyes. He said, "Remember, teach the
Children the true meaning of Christmas, and not to put me in the
center, for I am but a humble servant of the One who is, and I bow
down and worship Him, our Lord, our God."

Thanksgiving Blessings

I am so thankful for all my Family and Friends and I pray that in the coming year we Will all remember what is important....God, Family, Friends, Health, having peace in our hearts/Soul,being grateful for all things BIG and SMALL. And the things that we need to remember that are not...bitterness, anger, jealousy, resentment, that list could go on and on right!

There is nothing that I am more thankful for than my salvation for without that there would be no hope, there would be no future. God reminds me everyday how much He loves me. When I look at my precious C.J. and my heart fills with so much love and I know that I would REALLY die for him, that is how Christ felt when He made that incredible sacrifice on the cross for us. There is nothing that I should not be willing to sacrifice for Him!

I hope you enjoy the following message from Beth Moore's blog that I found on a friends FB. It really touched me and I hope it does you as well.....

From Beth Moore's Blog...
"I always thank my God for you because of the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus. For you were made rich in every way in Him, in all your speech and in every kind of knowledge (dig Paul's inspired concept of real riches! these riches are already yours! claim them and put them to use!) - just as the testimony about Christ has been confirmed among you - so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. GOD IS FAITHFUL, by whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." 1 Corinthians 1:4-9 NET

We are rich in every way.
Nothing makes us richer than the knowledge of Christ and the everyday-speech to share it with a hurting, wandering soul.
We do not lack a single spiritual gift we need to fulfill our destiny.
We will be strengthened by God to the very end then we will flat-out see Jesus.
He will never - not ever - be unfaithful to us.

Yep. That makes for a mighty happy Thanksgiving. Do not under any circumstance let Satan steal your joy and your gratitude today. Get down on the floor of the bathroom at your relative's house if you have to and grab it back in Jesus' Name. Give not one inch to your betrayer nor trust his lying tongue. Love the Truth today more than your turkey and dressing and gratitude will flood your heart.

Dollywood with special friends!

C.J. at 2 years old with Uncle Jake

I had to post this picture of C.J. when he was two. It is just the sweetest picture of him. I so miss him being that small! It wasn't until he turned three that people stoped thinking he was a girl. I didn't mind though in the least!
